SAID Historical Sociology Workshop: University of Oxford, 12 May 2006

The BISA Historical Sociology working group and SAID are organizing a joint workshop on 12th May 2006 in Oxford, entitled 'Logics of Sovereignty - theory and history'. The workshop will bring together scholars from across the field of International Relations, to discuss issues around sovereignty that have animated the work of both working groups. Topics covered range from theoretical explorations of sovereignty, to historical accounts of its emergence in the age of empire and its transformation in the post-imperial epoch of European integration. The program can be downloaded from the link above. Note that the workshop is organized on an invitation-only basis. For those interested in participating, please contact either Chris Bickerton or Robert Shilliam
